Welcome to the School of Graduate Studies, University of Health and Allied Sciences. As one of the newest public universities established in Ghana in 2011, we are proud of our achievements so far and look forward to much brighter accomplishments with you in mind.

Here in UHAS, our postgraduate programmes offer our students the pathway to pursue lifelong learning opportunities, co-design products and services that transform our health system, well-being and solve contextually practical problems in Ghana and beyond. Students who have the opportunity to join us here in UHAS join an exciting community of talented and knowledge-driven students who are passionate and critical about problem-solving in the field of health sciences. Our schools have accomplished and seasoned professors and academics with industry (practical) and academic-based training, offering a unique blend to UHAS postgraduate training. In all our programmes, we strive to blend transferable skills, personal development training, subject-specific training and career skills-based training to give our postgraduates the best of destinations after completing their training.

Postgraduate training in the University is premised strongly on our quest to provide higher education in the health sciences through teaching and research and this contributes to knowledge dissemination and its applications to the needs and aspirations of the people of Ghana. To this end, in designing our curricula, we reinforced practical and skill-based training components, develop strong research capacity, in addition to the ethos of this institution - Excellence, Integrity, Innovations and Service and Care.

To the research community and our stakeholders in Ghana and across the world, UHAS, as the only public University in Ghana solely dedicated to the training of healthcare and allied health professionals, is keen on fostering partnerships and opportunities that allow us as a university, together with you, to provide lasting and lifelong learning and teaching opportunities for our postgraduate students. We look forward to fostering these partnerships in the years ahead.

If you are a prospective postgraduate student, we look forward to you taking a bold step in joining this vibrant community of knowledge seekers. I have every confidence that you will find the UHAS community welcoming and as a ground where your academic curiosity for knowledge acquisition will be transformational.

The city of Ho offers the best of cultural, recreational and entertainment opportunities you can find in any part of the country. You are welcome to experience UHAS’ warmth and the hospitality that the Volta Region of Ghana offers.
